The kittens are starting to eat solids! They're just over 4 weeks old. No, they're not climbing my curtains yet, but that's likely because I recently moved them into my bedroom so that I could shut the door & keep the kids from fighting over them   :gaah: Out of sight, out of mind works for *most* of the hours of the day.... For now they just climb up the edge of my bedskirt & attack my feet when I walk by the bed, and one is fairly obsessed with the shoes in the closet. :giggle: ....don't mind the mess on the floor, under the kittens, I was taking pics of them whiel they were under my bed, and I haven't vacuumed under there in a while. :giggle: :bag: ....but I did find out what happened to the alarm clock ....

Piston & LugNut...no LugNut never did have any puppies, and is not pregnant. I took her to the vet last week, they took an xray, no puppies & the vet thought that she felt puppies too, & saw the milk jugs & etc & since I was sure she was in heat when the cat was puppies should of been born already...but alas, there are no puppies in there. :sigh:  But they do make quite the pair

And the other night I kept hearing a lot of banging & crashing type noises on the highway, so went out and investigated...almost had a heart attack when I saw the Pooh Bear just sitting up in the middle of the road, with other debris laying around. This bear, in the dark, around midnight, sitting up looks a LOT like a young child just sitting there. But from everything I picked up off the road & out of my yard its obvious that someone lost a bag of toys & the crunching, etc noise I heard was a skateboard that did not survive being ran over a few times. But this is the "loot" ...except for Mikaila, of course

She was anxious to play with the toys, or at least the Hulk hands :giggle:

Two hours

Is how long it took me to get through my first "at home" 30 minute work out...

Between obnoxious children and phone calls I finally got through the first Zumba video. But it was very cute to watch the kids try it out too...mainly Mikeal as Mikaila decided she wanted to go take a nap, but nonetheless..

Tomorrow we shall try again.

Personal Make-Over

I've always, well since middle school, been a bit heavier than "average" it never really bothered me, I held my shape well, have always been fit, could run a mile just like the next person...well, always kept my time around 10-12 minutes, so I never considered myself in the "fat" category. When *I* think of someone as fat I don't look at their BMI or how many tummy rolls they may or may not have, I look at their activity....if that "overweight" person can get out there and be just as physically active as someone else of lesser weight, then I thought nothing of it, but it was when such persons weren't even able to keep up with their house enough to at least take dirty diapers out of the living room, or dishes be done at least once a day that I start considering that person "fat"...but mainly just lazy.

Anyways, I'm not the lazy category of fat, I've just always been overweight, I've always ate well, I watch my junk intake carefully...there's not point in adding to a problem. I maintain a fairly active lifestyle. I keep my house clean, do all my own yard work, help out in the community, the works...but it is not enough. Prior to becoming pregnant with Mikaila I went through a very drastic weight loss...well the number on the scale never went below 200, but I went from a size 20 to a size 12, in 8 months, with no real diet change, no extra exercise, nada, I just worked. I worked in a convience store...on my feet, constantly walking, stocking, you name it, so I turned that into a bit of "work-out" for myself. I'd do squats while lifting crates of soda or cases of beer, the works...well, it's been 2 years and a bad pregnancy in there and well I wasn't able to really maintain.

So I got myself some Zumba DVDs since I've been hearing a lot of great things about Zumba, I'm going to make it a goal to go down to the track, with the kids, and start jogging it a few times a week. In the very least I might learn some new dance steps. LOL

But my living room is now arranged in such a way that so long as the toys are not in the floor I should not be a danger to myself. My goal is to get down to at least a size 12...I know that sounds "large" to many persons, but I stand 6ft tall, am well built, and can sling a 100 pound hay bale like it's almost nothing, and I'm not too keen on making myself look like an anorexic runway model.

Now I just need to find a reward for myself for when I do reach this goal....

ETA : I also quit smoking!

A Real Friend

A Real Friend

Is never afraid to be seen with you
Never leaves you behind in trouble
Is always there on the double
Never second guesses you
Always giving you a say in the decision
Knows when you are upset
And is the first to offer help
Listens to you when you are upset
And is the first to offer help
Listens to you no matter what
Tells you their deepest secrets--
While keeping yours buried
Knows how and when to comfort you
But, also when to leave you alone
After misunderstandings...seeks forgiveness
---Earnestly and quickly
---Has already forgiven you
Comes to you for advice
---Seriously considers it
Keeps you sheltered from harm
Knows your thoughts by looking into your eyes
Looks to you for help when speaking their mind
A real friend loves you unconditionally
---forever

Written, just prior to the September 11 attacks, at 2am, on September 11, 2001.  When I wrote this I had no idea what was about to unfold in the lives of so many around the world.

Remember

Remember

Remember me and the fun we had,
The trouble we got in when we were bad.
Remember the time we stayed out late,
We must have touched the hand of fate.
Remember our friends Sharon, Vicki, and John,
The party we had until dawn.
Remember the time you asked me to go steady,
I said I thought I was ready.
Remember the time we went all the way,
You can forget, but I had to stay.
Now I'm in a home for unwed mothers,
But you shouldn't care you're just like the others.
Now I'm in the hospital, fighting the pain,
I'm keeping the baby 'cause it needs a name.
The doctor came in a minute ago,
He said there was something he thought all should know.
Now the nurse had to tell me,
I was going to die,
Now there is just one last tie,
Take care, I love you, and Good-bye. . .

Obituary of the late Mr. Common Sense

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years.. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: Knowing when to come in out of the rain; Why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and Maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6 -year- old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer Tylenol, sun lotion or a Band-Aid to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents , Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 3 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I'm A Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on.

I Believe

I believe- That just because two people argue, it doesn't mean they don't love each other. And just because they don't argue, it doesn't mean they do.

I believe - That we don't have to change friends if we understand that friends change.

I believe - That no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurtyou every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.

I believe - That true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love.

I believe - That you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for life.

I believe - That it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be.

I believe - That you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.

I believe - That you can keep going long after you think you can't.

I believe - That we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.

I believe - That either you control your attitude or it controls you.

I believe - That heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.

I believe - That money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I believe - That my best friend and I can do anything or nothing and have the best time.

I believe - That sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you're down, will be the ones to help you get back up.

I believe - That sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I believe - That maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had and what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.

I believe - That it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself.

I believe - That no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn't stop for your grief.

I believe - That our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.

I believe - That you shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret. It could change your life Forever.

I believe - Two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different.

I believe - That your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don't even know you.

Ibelieve - That even when you think you have no more to give, when afriend cries out to you - you will find the strength to help.

I believe - That credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.

I believe - That the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.

****The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything they have***
